The National Education Association voted to drop the ADL, but the ADL pushed back and got the democratic vote of member teachers overturned.
You may have heard that in July 2025, the National Education Association (NEA), the country’s largest labor union, voted to approve NBI #39 which says, “NEA will not use, endorse, or publicize any materials from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), such as its curricular materials or its statistics. NEA will not participate in ADL programs or publicize ADL professional development offerings.”
Great news right? Sadly, no. The NEA president, Executive Committee and Board of Directors chose to overturn the democratic vote of the Representative Assembly and strike down NBI #39.
