PRESS BRIEFING AND PROTEST
A broad group of social justice organizations call to “abolish the Anti-Defamation League” at the ADL’s Never is Now conference on March 16 from 5-7pm at the Javits Center, preceded by a press briefing
Contact: Mindy 929-777-0571 or Bonnie 646-210-1566
WHAT:
Increasingly, the Anti-Defamation League boldly partners with racist MAGA and “anti-woke” figures, uses discredited claims of “left antisemitism” to attack its critics, and continues to deny Israel’s livestreamed anti-Palestinian genocide.
On Monday evening, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt plans to broadcast a summit session with a MAGA pastor who has called for a “blood-washed” Christian uprising against Muslims and LGBTQ people. Outside, a coalition of Jewish, Palestinian, Arab, educator, student, and human rights groups will call for the abolition of the ADL. This is part of escalating broad-based public opposition to the ADL for its role in escalating racism and fascism.
The press briefing just prior to the protest will include information about:
The ADL’s growing role in MAGA and its domestic and foreign policy projects, including policing/surveillance, Israeli territorial expansion, and war on Iran
ADL’s role in racism and racist violence targeting BIPOC people, Palestinians, Jews, and Indigenous people
ADL’s moves to censor education on Palestine and Israel and criminalize honest teaching
ADL’s role in “anti-woke” Trump-era politics
Ongoing partnerships with hard right, racist, and violent figures at the ADL’s annual “Never is Now” summit
Challenges from Jewish, Arab, LGBTQ, and school/university groups against the ADL
